Notice

No.: SMF/26-27/I/1729 -F - 80/2026, dated 24th August, 2026.

Admission through offline counselling and subsequent document verification for the Diploma in Pharmacy course for the academic year 2026, in the three Government Pharmacy Institutes at Kalyani, Bankura and Jalpaiguri, will commence on 27th August, 2026 at the Office of the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal, 14-C, Beliaghata Main Road, Kolkata - 700 085.

Candidates must be physically present in person at the venue on the scheduled date and time. No candidate will be allowed to take part through a representative or proxy.

Counselling registration fee

A fee of Rs. 200 (rupees two hundred only) per candidate is payable online, from 25.08.2026 at 2 p.m. and continuing up to the date of counselling.

Only registered applicants will be permitted to take part in the counselling process. The fee once paid is not refundable.

Keep the payment receipt. It has to be produced at counselling, and the payment id has to be recorded on your dashboard so that the office can check it against the bank statement.

Merit listing alone does not entitle a candidate to any right or claim to admission. Paying the fee does not by itself secure a seat.

Schedule, 27th August 2026

A candidate may be called more than once. Someone high on the combined list who also holds a category rank is called once against a UR seat and again against a category seat.

Reserved day, 29th August 2026

If seats remain vacant after counselling on the combined rank on 27th August, candidates from combined rank 501 to the end of the merit list will be considered against those seats.

Report at the same time as on 27th August, that is 8.45 a.m., with counselling from 9.00 a.m. onwards, strictly in order of combined rank.

If your rank is called and you are not there

A candidate who is absent, or who fails to respond immediately when the rank number is announced, may still be considered, but only at the discretion and with the approval of the competent authority present at the venue, and only against seats still vacant at the exact time of reporting. Allotments already completed are not disturbed. This applies only to candidates who report before the close of that day.

Documents to bring

Bring the originals and self attested photocopies of all of these:

1. Downloaded copy of the filled-in online application form, with the receipt for the application fee of Rs. 600
2. Receipt for the counselling registration fee of Rs. 200
3. Provisional rank card
4. Age proof: birth certificate or Madhyamik admit card
5. Marksheet of the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination
6. Certificate of the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination
7. Domicile certificate from the appropriate authority
8. Valid eye check-up certificate from a registered eye specialist
9. Valid medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
10. Original and updated category certificate, SC, ST or OBC-NCL, where it applies
11. Valid disability certificate in the prescribed format, for a PH candidate
12. EWS certificate in the prescribed format, with the self declaration on sub-caste, family income and assets
13. Annual family income certificate in the appropriate format, for the TFW scheme
14. Character certificate from the appropriate authority
15. Aadhaar card
16. Self undertaking in the prescribed format
17. Two recent passport size colour photographs

Points to note

1. In the matter of allotment or admission to a particular institute, the decision of the President, State Medical Faculty of West Bengal is final and binding.
2. Once allotted or admitted there is no provision for upgrading or changing the institution, as stated in the earlier notification No. SMF/26-27/I/1581 -F - 80/2026 dated 12th August, 2026.
3. The seats remaining in the three institutes are published on this website and are updated as allotments are made.
4. Counselling closes as soon as all seats are filled, or the combined merit list is exhausted, whichever comes first.
5. While studying the D.Pharm course, studying any other course is not allowed.

If at any stage of document verification an applicant is found ineligible under the prescribed norms, the candidature stands cancelled, even if the name appears in the provisional merit list, a seat has been allotted, or the candidate has been admitted and registered. In such a case any fees already paid are forfeited and are not refunded.

Reporting at the allotted college

Reporting at the enrolled college with all the required admission documents is on 1st September, 2026.

Counselling will be closed immediately after all seats have been filled, or the combined merit list is exhausted, whichever is earlier.
